GREAT FALLS — Ranchers, Mr. and Mrs. John Peterson were recently headed out into the twilight to do chores when they spotted one of their healthy young cows dead in a stubble field, just off the road. Stopping the truck to investigate, they found the cow’s udder, genitals and rectum were cut out. The cases of cattle and animal mutilation have been the subject of an investigation by the Federal Bereau of Investigation: FBI Reports can be accessed HERE.

After coming under increasing public pressure, federal authorities launched a comprehensive investigation of the mutilation phenomena. In May 1979, the case was passed on to the FBI, which granted jurisdiction under Title 18 (codes 1152 and 1153). The investigation was dubbed “Operation Animal Mutilation”.

The investigation was funded by a US$44,170 grant from the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration of the US Justice Department, and was headed by FBI agent Kenneth Rommel. Rommel’s final report was 297 pages long and cost approximately US$45,000. It concluded that mutilations were predominantly the result of natural predation, but that some contained anomalies that could not be accounted for by conventional wisdom. The FBI was unable to identify any individuals responsible for the mutilations.

After studying these diseases and their frightening progress over the years, it is now clear they are all directly related to one another. These misfolded proteins seat themselves in the host brain and immediately begin to turn it into hole-filled sponge-like material.

The only appreciable difference between prions seems to be which part of the brain is turned to mush.

In the only published research of its type, the brains of approximately 65 Alzheimer’s victims were analyzed. About 15 of the brains showed death by ‘CJD’… classic prion disease…and not what is called ‘Alzheimer’s’ Disease.
